THE UFO HOUSE, TAIWAN 1. Who is the architect (the person who built it)? Matti Suuronen, a Finnish architect  2. When was it built? 1978 3. Where is it located? New Taipei City, Taiwan 4. Is it a private building or can you visit it? The buildings were knocked down in 2010 so they no longer exist, and they were abandoned for the years previous. 5 . Is there information on how much it cost to build? There isn't information on how much it cost, but the project depleted the project manager's funds after two years and a handful of deaths and suicides, so the project was abandoned. 6. Is there a reason the building was created or the history of the building itself? The buildings were created for US soldiers deployed near taiwan or for the wealthy taiwanese to live in as holiday homes, but the project fell flat as they were too expensive for most to afford. There were rumors bout an ancient dutch burial ground and the curse of a stone dragon, which led to many of the wor

Sensory Overload

1. The last sentence of the story says "I believe that more and more, we are defining our environments not as the spaces themselves, in terms of the buildings or architecture, but rather by the objects and devices that we buy and surround ourselves with. ... I would like that message to carry through universally," Seymour said. What do you think about this statement? Do you agree or disagree? As an aspiring photographer how does this make you feel about your photography? I agree with that our environment is largely determined by what fills it but as an aspiring photographer, we have to be able to look past all that to also capture the building and structure of the world around us. 2. When you looked through the images, did you want to visit this place and take your camera? Looking at these photos I would like to visit this place with my camera, but only for a short time, as I feel like it would get too overwhelming if I spent too much time there. 3. What do you think it woul

New Tables in the hallways foster student community The story is on how AISD purchased tables for Bowie since they noticed we were short on seating out in the courtyard and in the hallways. The tables are affecting lunches, as well as before and after school studies, as they are a much better option than sitting on the floor. Students are pleased with the addition and hope to see more tables brought in as the ones we've just gotten have already filled up. Who? AISD and Bowie's Student Community. What? Tables being purchased and installed at Bowie. Where? James Bowie High School. When?  Fall of 2017, a few months after school had started. Why? Tables were bought due to the lack of seating provided by Bowie How? AISD funded the new puppy of tables and chairs. Who was quoted in the story?  Management Assistant from AISD as well as a freshman and a sophomore. What quote was the strongest in your opinion and where did that quote appear in the story?

Front Pages of the World

1.) My favorite news paper front page is the 20 Minutes from Paris, France. I liked it because of how they used a large picture and added a headline at the bottom and they has other stories to the left of it, those headlines not on the image. It was visually pleasing and different than the others I had looked at. 2.) My favorite headline is the biggest one on the front, the one about sexual violence. It's interesting because typically you don't see sexual violence making the front pages unless something has happened, but this looks more like an article on how to spot, stop, and prevent it. 3.) There are six headlines on my paper, four on the side, one at the top, and one in the middle. 4.) All newspapers have atlas three images, a main headline thats larger than the others, as well as a date and the name of the publisher. 5.) Things that vary for each newspaper are fonts, colors, and formatting.
