Top 100 Photographs #1

Mushroom Cloud Over Nagasaki
1.) I choose this picture because I've only really seen a mushroom cloud from the ground view in pictures, never from an aerial view, so it caught my eye.
2.) In 1945 the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb named 'Fat Man' on Nagasaki, Japan just three days after they had bombed Hiroshima. 16 photos were shot of the 45,000 foot mushroom cloud caused by the debris, but only one was released to the public that showed the full scale of the loud from the air.
3.) I learned that Nagasaki was a secondary target, and the main target was the city of Kokura
4.) Charles Levy was a lieutenant in the army, not a photographer, so this is his only widely known photo.
