"For W’s December/January Art Issue, the magazine collaborated with artist Yayoi Kusama to create this iconic cover image depicting George Clooney. The visually arresting image is the highlight of the cover story, for which five leading female artists were invited to create interpretive portraits of the actor. Clooney wears a suit painted by Kusama with her signature polka dots and stands against a polka-dotted backdrop. Planned to coincide with the opening of an exhibition of new work by Kusama at David Zwirner Gallery, the cover makes a powerful reference to the artist’s iconic self-portraits."
Critique: The color scheme is what really pulled me in for this picture. The white and black contrasts very nicely with his skin and the pinks and oranges of the font really just creates an attention grabbing picture. The font following the dot pattern by changing colors with the black and the white is very creative and this cover deserved it's winning title.

HDR Preview

1. What manipulations to the camera will you need to make to create an HDR image? You need to take several pictures both above and below the correct exposure. 2. What equipment will we use to take this type of image? We will be using a tripod and a DSLR camera 3. What is the reason someone might take an HDR image? So that we can accurately capture the lights and darks in an image, making it similar to what the eye can see. 4. What can we expect to happen with the images once we merge them together, what will we see that we might not have seen with just one photo? We will see the different levels of light and dark, being able to make out things that we wouldn't have been able to with just a singular picture.
