4. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like these in a photo? Why or why not?
I don't think it's ethically acceptable to change an appearance like this, because it turns a person into something that doesn't exist. So when girls look at the pictures and want to look like that, they don't realize that physically nobody can look like that because its not real.
5. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?
Circumstance where something is being sold that's supposed to change you appearance, like slimming clothes or makeup, the advertisement literally is lying because that's not what you will look like when you use the product. The model doesn't even look like the picture when she uses the product so how can you feel something that doesn't even do as showed.
6. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?
Changes that are okay are changes like removing a pimple that popped up, or removing the oil spots from your face, but when you begin to change things that are permanent, like teeth, body shape, or skin color, it's been taken too far.
7. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism.
Fashion photography is trying to sell something, and will do so by whatever means. Photojournalism is trying to tell a true story to let other people know about the story.
8. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality, and how does this affect the ethical practice of each?
Each edited photo distorts reality into something that is perceived as 'better' or 'greater', but this ethically is wrong because the picture doesn't show the reality that the model isn't 'better' or 'greater'.
9. Why do you think I am showing you these three videos?
I think you're showing us the videos to remind us that the photos we see in magazines are often not real, and are an inaccurate representation of the product being sold.
10. Why are none of these videos about guys???
None of these videos are about guys because guys aren't really as big of a target audience for the fashion industry. These videos are about women because the majority of fashion advertisements are marketed towards women, for women.
