The Camera

1. The "camera obscura"effect is an optical effect that involves creating a tiny hole in a wall of a completely dark room and through the hole the light is focused and the outside scene is projected (upside-down) on the wall opposite of the hole. 2. When high quality glass lenses are invented by Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens the modern camera was brought one step closer to where it is today. 3. The first "modern" camera was invented by Joseph Niepce and it consisted of a glass lens, a dark box, and film. 4. Great Black and White Photographers

Imogene Cunningham- Succulent Harry Callahan- Eleanor Lee Friedlander -Lafayette, Louisiana   I really liked these images because of the contrast of soft and stark, the curves and the lines. The soft curves of the humans and their shadows and the straight lines of the wood in the pole and window contrast well. I liked the top picture, the succulent, because of the sharpness, with every crease shadow and line defined.  What I liked about the middle photo though was the lack of definition and the fuzzy edges which gave it a soft and light tone.

My Holiday

1.) One thing I will remember from my Holiday was a small Christmas part I had gone to a couple days before break had started. The party was small with only about ten people, but it was really fun as  we were all close friends and a very relaxed night. 2.) My 2018 resolution is to eat better, drink more water, and stay consistent with my skincare routine, as they are all things I need to do better. 3.) In 2018 I'm already looking forwards to summer and vacation, but I'm also excited t return to high school in the fall a year older and year wiser.
