Surfing Hippos
1.) This caught my eye because normally hippos are seen in a flat environment, where the water as little waves, but these waves are much bigger and prominent.
2.) Michael Nichols documented the 2,000 mile trip of Michael Fay across the continent of Africa from the Congo to the African west coast. There they found a rare sight, hippopotamuses swimming in the atlantic ocean.
3.) The natural habitat for these wild animals is being chipped away at by humans, and this picture inspired Gabon President Omar Bongo to create a chain of reserves for these animals.

HDR Preview

1. What manipulations to the camera will you need to make to create an HDR image? You need to take several pictures both above and below the correct exposure. 2. What equipment will we use to take this type of image? We will be using a tripod and a DSLR camera 3. What is the reason someone might take an HDR image? So that we can accurately capture the lights and darks in an image, making it similar to what the eye can see. 4. What can we expect to happen with the images once we merge them together, what will we see that we might not have seen with just one photo? We will see the different levels of light and dark, being able to make out things that we wouldn't have been able to with just a singular picture.
