American Soldier
a.) I think the most powerful picture is "Beginning to Feel Like a Soldier", because it shows that despite him being put in this adult situation, he's still a kid.
b.) The images work together to tell a story in a way that makes the mental and physical changes in Ian visible as his story progresses and it really helps the viewer understand just how much the army can change a person.
c.) The captions enhance the photograph by giving them reason and meaning, helping the viewer understand what the picture is supposed to be of.

Ian Fisher was a curious boy who wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and join the army. when he joined though, he realized that it wasn't what he thought, and was injured and had thoughts of quitting multiple times. He was deployed to a base by his home and struggled being split between the two worlds of army and home. He took a break but then eventually returned and he was deployed in Iraq where he did't find the action that he joined the army for. He matured and reflected on what his job was in life as well as his place before returning home and marrying his girlfriend.

3- The information in the second sentence provides background information that we can't see or know just by looking at the picture.

5- Several caption have a quote in them, and it helps contribute to the idea of the picture.
6- There are a few that have four sentences, but they're either quotes that contribute to the caption or a further explanation of the picture.
g.) I think it's possible to show a story in pictures because just by seeing actions and expressions, we can draw conclusions to what is happening and how one event has led to another.
h.) You should provide a story to go with pictures and captions however, because there are just somethings that cannot be photographed, and often large events occur without being photographed so you could miss a big part of a story.
